One Year in the Job!

I can’t believe how quick this has gone! It feels like only yesterday but I have enjoyed the journey so far. I hope the small improvements have benefited, and that myself and my staff are giving a Professional service. I have bigger plans going into next year which include the range, the practice nets, the first tee and short game area.

Shop Improvements (Shop temporarily closed November 21st & 22nd)

The shop will be temporarily closed on November 21st & 22nd to undergo some shop improvements. There will be a new shop front window replacement with a sliding central door and new stairs which will be more inviting and that meet the health and safety requirements. We hope to enlarge the upstairs to cater for more stock.

Be sure to pop in and check out the changes once they have been completed.

2 Stories from the World of Golf

The main talking point from the weekend’s golf was Paul Dunne’s emphatic victory at the British Masters. The Irishman produced a sensational final-round 61, including a chip-in birdie at the last, to hold off Rory McIlroy’s late charge and win his maiden European Tour title by three shots.

Across the pond, the United States were taking on the International team in the Presidents Cup – their equivalent of the Ryder Cup. The USA strolled to victory in this one but it was the Rules-related drama that caught our eye. Here’s what happened:

1. During Friday’s fourball matches, Anirban Lahiri practiced a bunker shot after conceding a hole which is against the Rules, meaning he was DQ from the next hole due to the current hole already being over
2. During Saturday’s fourball matches, Oosthuizen attempted an eagle putt with his partner already securing the birdie. His eagle putt raced by the hole so Spieth picked up his ball as it was now meaningless…while it was still moving. This is a violation of Rule 1-2, which led to the USA team losing the hole
