Clubhouse

West Byfleet is a traditional members club with a strong friendly family tradition, an outstanding golf course and a relaxed social environment in which to play the game. Established in 1906 and located only 3 miles from Woking the club is easily accessible from both the A3 and the M25.

Designed by Cuthbert Butchart, a much respected professional of his time, West Byfleet when originally laid out had many features in common with a number of other Surrey Heathland courses. Today those features remain along with an ongoing course improvement programme overseen and recommended by leading golf course architects Mackenzie & Ebert. Being located on a large seam of “Bagshot sand” the course drains extremely quickly and even during the wetter months, our course remained open longer than many other clubs in the area. Full course irrigation was installed in 2011 meaning Members enjoy excellent golfing conditions throughout the year.

Measuring 6,200 yards off the men’s competition tees with a par of 70 and six par four holes of over 400 yards each. It is regarded as a good test of golf, indeed par is rarely broken. The ladies’ course measures 5,600 yards with a par of 72. The Club’s signature hole is the 13th Pond hole, a short but tricky par 3.
